Let the Fun Begin...with the MVP 2.0!

If you managed to catch yesterday's post, you were left wondering about my "new best friend." Well, I decided not to keep you in the dark any longer, and even introduced you to my new bestie right in the title of this post.

The MVP 2.0!

First of all, let me say that this purchase was not made on a whim. Oh, no. I poured and I poured over reviews of all kinds. I researched, and I considered plenty of other alternatives that were both cost-effective and easy to maintain. I just kept on coming back to the MVP 2.0.

I find it interesting that when I first started vaping (you know...way back in the day), I couldn't imagine myself using anything but a cig-a-like. I was convinced that cig-a-likes were "where it's at," and there was no way I could be satisfied with anything that didn't look like an analog. I'm so happy to admit that I was wrong!

Of course, once I upgraded to the eGo T, I thought that I would be perfectly happy vaping on that for years to come. Oh, they told me that the batteries don't last forever, and that I'd need to buy new ones every so often. I was fine with that. After all, the batteries weren't that expensive. What I didn't realize was how "fiddly" the eGo T would be. I didn't mind fiddling so much; actually it was kind of fun. I remember thinking to myself a few times, "I wonder if I would have liked rolling my own smokes?" Even so, I felt a deep desire for more vapor, and a way to change the taste of my juice, albeit ever so slightly.

After much debate, I decided to pull the trigger.

I actually bought my MVP 2.0 from an eBay store. I had heard others saying they purchased mods on eBay, so I thought, "Why not?"

What's a mod? A mod actually gets its name from when they used to modify flashlights and metal pipes into electronic cigarettes. I'm sure some people still do that, but it's a nickname that's carried over to the devices that use variable voltage and/or variable wattage options.

Here is a picture of my MVP 2.0:

That delightful topper you see there is actually an iClear 30, which is what this particular mod came with. It is quite impressive.

If you're considering getting an MVP 2.0 yourself, you've probably read a lot of information going over the pros and the cons of these particular mods. Things like:
  • There's a weird rattling noise I can't figure out
  • The button is too hard to push down
  • The battery life is INSANE

Let me set a few things straight. First of all, they must have fixed both the rattling issue and the button issue. Mine is silent as the day is long, and the button is an easy press. I was a little worried that I would have some difficulty pressing the button (especially since I write for a living, and my fingers are always flying around a keyboard). However, this was a non-issue. I'm two and a half weeks in with this bad boy, and I have had no problems whatsoever.

As far as battery life goes, it truly is insane. First of all, it had a good charge on it right out of the box. I vaped it for about 24 hours (counting in about 8 hours of sleep time), and then I put it on the charger. In half an hour it was ready to go.

Impressive!

I can get it to go about two full days on a single charge before the light behind the button turns to yellow. This morning I put it on the charger because it had been almost two days and I didn't want to be caught without it today. It was finished charging in about an hour and a half. This thing is a workhorse, to say the least.

Another thing I was a little concerned about was the fact that the MVP 2.0 is, indeed, a box mod. I didn't think that I would like something that was box-shaped. I thought it would be too bulky for me, and that I would have a hard time holding it because of that. It turns out this was also a non-issue. I don't have big hands, and it fits perfectly in them. I think the fire button is in the perfect spot to hit it with your thumb, and the beauty ring it comes with makes it have a really sleek look.

You know, I'm trying and trying to find something wrong with the MVP 2.0 and I just can't. If I absolutely had to pick something I'd change, I would say the device is a little bit heavy. I was pretty surprised when I took it out of the box for the first time. However, it wasn't long before I got used to the weight of it, and now it doesn't bother me at all. More than anything I think it attests to really good craftsmanship.

If you look hard enough, you can find the MVP 2.0 online for around $40. Some places even include free shipping. That's a steal for such an awesome device. It's actually even less than I paid for my eGo T starter kit at the local B & M.

I give the MVP 2.0 a BIG two thumbs up! If you're wondering whether or not they're worth it...I say, GET ONE NOW!

The Transformation of the Queen

When I started vaping, I took the road that many veteran vapers take. I went down to my local convenience store and I picked up a cute little cig-a-like.

How many of you did exactly the same thing?

I won't divulge the brand of this cig-a-like here, but it was black with a glowing blue tip.

The packaging was horrendous, and I'm pretty sure I broke three nails just getting the confounded thing open. Originally, I bought it because I wanted to have a way to "smoke" when I couldn't smoke.

Ya get me?

I tried it out. I coughed and I sputtered, and I thought, "No way, man! This ain't happenin'!" Of course, I kept on trying, and before long my lungs got used to the different kind of hit. Lo and behold, I realized I was actually learning to enjoy vaping that little cig-a-like more than smoking real cigarettes. I thought I'd have a go at quitting analogs completely, and honestly the switch wasn't terrible. A few weeks later, I quit the cig-a-like too.

Of course, that quit didn't last very long, and one day I just had a terrible craving for a smoke...and I gave in.

Back to the drawing board.

The next time I tried quitting, I went to the cig-a-like again, and I didn't do too bad. However, I couldn't get past the fact that I had heard so much about these electronic cigarettes that were rechargeable, and people said they were way better.

For real? Way better? Count me in!

I visited the local vape shop that had just opened up and I bought myself a purple eGo T. It was pretty big (1100mAh), but the guy said I'd get used to it.

Man, was he right!

Before long, I had left the cig-a-like behind for good. I immersed myself in trying all kinds of juices, and it wasn't long before I found one I easily considered an excellent choice for an ADV.

As you know, when it comes to vaping, it's difficult to stop once you get started. I started doing some online browsing, and it wasn't long before I found my brand-new best friend.

What was it?

Stay tuned! The answer to that question deserves a post all its own!

E-Juice Review - Mt. Baker Vapor's Butterscotch

It was an absolute pleasure for me to receive my VapeMail last week. The package arrived from none other than Mt. Baker Vapor, and its contents were simply superb!

The one e-juice flavor I just couldn't wait to try was Butterscotch. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I wouldn't necessarily say it was a complex flavor. No, there was nothing complex about it at all. Instead it was essentially a candy-like concoction that immediately transported me through time back to my Grandma's living room.

Oh, Granny. Oh, how I remember the days spent at your house with fondness and joy. I can remember sitting out on Granny's front porch. It was a beautiful, sunny New England day, and I was enjoying everything about being a part of a Boston suburb. The grass was green, the birds were chirping in the trees, and Granny's white picket fence that surrounded the front of her little cape cod had just been freshly painted.

As for me, I had just finished picking some dandelions for Granny, who was lovingly placing them into a paper cup in preparation for their proud display on her front porch. I'm sure she threw them out soon after I went home, but for a little while, they had their unique place for every visitor and for every passerby to see.

Immensely proud of my gift to Granny, I whispered to her, "Can I have a piece of candy, Granny?"

"Of course you can, Love. Help yourself."

I skipped into the house, eager to peer into the little blue-tinted glass jar that was perched ever-so-carefully on top of her box-type television set. It was placed on a cute, white, lacy doily. I was always so careful not to upset the doily because it all just looked so beautiful and inviting. I picked up the lid, making that lovely, glass clangy sound that glass makes when it strikes against glass. Inside the little candy dish, nestled perfectly in their dainty yellow wrappings, were a cluster of butterscotch candies. I picked one up, and replaced the lid - again, very carefully.

I carried my prize out to the front porch, where I sat down and unwrapped it. I will never forget the flavor experience of the very first seconds the butterscotch was in my mouth. It was a delicate blend of buttery goodness that will be forever etched into my memory.

My friends, that is what you will experience every time you have a vape of Mt. Baker Vapor's Butterscotch e-juice. It is nothing short of exquisite, and I'm sure you will agree.

Butterscotch has quickly become an ADV for me, and I'm eagerly awaiting another order of it, seeing as how I vaped through mine in only a week. It was one of those flavors that makes you have to tell yourself, "I need to vape something else or else this whole thing is going to be GONE."

Unfortunately I didn't follow my own advice. Even so...vaping has never been so sweet.
